Super Busy

This week has been nothing but chaos!! And I am working really hard, and I feel like nothing is getting done. School is crazy! I have had pretty much one or two big assignments due for every class of everyday this week. It's nuts!!

Thursday, I am hoping to get a pumpkin and take it to my brother's house for Brooke to paint :] She's been sick, so Aunt Brittany is going to make it all better :] I miss her loads. It's been three weeks since I have seen her. We are best friends.

Well I better get a move on with my school work. I have two reflections for a research paper due tomorrow by 9:30 and a teaching portfolio due by 3:30. It's crazy!!

Wii Mania

I think I finally figured out how to upload movies onto this thing :]

This one is Adam (Justin's cousin) & Justin playing Wii at my house this past weekend. In case you can't tell...Adam is kneeling on his knees. He got really into the game. I think they were playing red light, green light on Monkey Ball Banana Blitz.

I think I got some bad news today. I got a message on my home phone from a professional recovery business. I'm thinking that either (a) my dad did not pay the doctors bills like he was supposed to; (b) he paid them and they did not receive them; or (c) someone in my house moved the bills and my dad never saw them and they did not get paid. So...I'm pretty sure the collection company is coming after me, and ruining my credit because my insurance company dropped me when I turned 19, and no one sent in the proper paperwork for my dad's insurance to cover me...with me being a full-time student and all that jazz. So I get to call them at 8:00 morning :] AWESOME! Not.

Work was kind of a roller coaster today. Our manager, Don retired. It was pretty much touching. We found out who he promoted at the new supervisor of the front end....good choice, good choice. And...one of the girls I work with, made the comment "to visit your mom" when I asked where everyone went. I thought she knew about my mom, and I guess she didn't, but that didn't make me feel better. It's not that I was super mad at her, just super mad at the whole situation.

OH! Then my laptop had a virus. Super!! But Justin and his dad fixed that. And then the internet didn't work since it was set to proxy settings. They fixed that too.

Simple Pleasure - awesome managers who go above and beyond to accommodate his associates :]

Simple Pleasures

So...I've decided that at the end of every blog post I am going to give that day's current simple pleasure. I have so much in my life to be thankful for, but there is always that one thing everyday that just puts a smile on my face.

So this weekend was a blast!! My dad was away hunting which was kind of a bummer :[ We were up until 1:30 Friday night playing Wii and then Saturday, Adam came over and the guys played Wii while I worked on homework. Adam was here until about 11:30 and then Justin stayed until about 2 :]

Brooke is still sick. Sandy took her back to the doctors for the 3rd week in a row. She sounds better this week, and she says she is feeling better but she still has a croopy cough :[ We decided to nix the pumpkin patch idea, and we are going to buy a pumpkin and all new paint and all new paint brushes, so we can do something fun together for halloween. Plus I plan to get all kinds of fun cookies for us to bake with Sandy :]

With all that said...let's catch up on this weekend's simple pleasures, shall we?!

Friday - Talking to Brooke and her telling me she loves me and she misses me :]
Saturday - For great managers & coworkers who are super understanding when I messed up my schedule by a whole shift...oops :]
Sunday - Justin & I going out to eat on my dinner break :]

Today's - One of my student blazed through her math work today! And she did excellent working on one digit addition using charts, tables, stamps & a calculator! I LOVE my profession :]

Addiction...

Is not a pretty thing. We got our Wii on Thursday and because I was at my grandparent's house that night, we hooked it up last night. And boy is it fun :] We were up until 1:00 playing the dern thing!! But it is pretty cool. I didn't think I'd like it as much as I do :] So now, not only am I addicted to coffee, books, ghost hunters and redecorating....I have Wii to add to my list :]

We went out for date night last night - my treat. We planned on going to Outback but since we piddly-farted around with the Wii, when we got there it was jam-packed. So we went to Noodles instead (fine by me!!). And we stopped and got another nunchuk for the Wii and a Cranium game. It's super fun. Then we went and got gelato. That stuff is really yummy. Especially the caramel one.

Well I think Justin is coming over to play Wii this morning :] I'd better get my fix before he hogs it :]

Botanical Gardens & Other Fun Stuff

Yesterday, Brittani, Morgan & I went to the Botanical Gardens in D.C. and we went to The Nationa; Air and Space Museum. These pictures are slightly out of order. I really stink at these uploads. I'll get better soon I promise. WARNING: pictures and info gallore. Bear with me :]

The cockpit of one of the planes in the ASM. Too many buttons.

Morgan, me & Britt in front of the Capitol.
The girls again :]
The BG had all these funky globes everywhere.
A little fountain covered by some flowers.
This is one funky flower.
Me & Britt in front of a waterfall. Kudos to Morgan...our photographer.
Morgan was tired and decided to sleep in an astronauts bed.
All in all it was a fun day. Morgan got attacked by pigeons, a crazy lady with a cart full of stuffed animals was walking and talking to herself (and no it wasn't a bluetooth...that's what we thought!) and we thought there was a national mall...wrong! It was a "mall" of all the Smithsonian museums. Tricksters. Morgan & I fell asleep on the way home :]
Then Justin and I went out for date night. He took me to Carrabbas. My favorite. We walked around the Hunt Valley stores and be bought me a new wallet...not a Vera...much cooler :] And I got two new books...one of which I started this morning and am already on chapter 5!! It's a darn good book. Justin and I are off for another adventure today before I have to be at work at 2 :]

New Layout

I thought my blog could use just a splash of color :] I personally love the little punkin. He's cute :]

I had new thoughts for my room today:

Thought 1: paint my trim white again (which will involve a primer).
Thought 2: paint my walls a light tanish color, instead of whiter with a touch of lavendar.
( I think it will look better with the green).
Thought 3: take down the lavendar valances on my windows and put up darker green ones.

So I think that's what I am going to do! For sure. But I am going to paint my accent wall first, paint the rest of the walls, and then paint the trim and the doors.

I want my room to be my own. And I want it to have a comfortable, rustic feel to it. And I don't want it to be too girly so I am going to do away with the accents. So there we have it. I have made my decision, decision made. Of course I will change it about 5 more times. But I'm a woman. What do you want from me :]

Peace & Love.

Phase 1 ... Has Begun

Today started Phase 1 of my room transformation :] The five boards below are the original ones that Brandee and I picked out.

And these are the finished projects. Justin helped pick out the rest of the paper tonight :]

I finished these nine. And one day this week I am going to make like 4 or 5 more, but smaller ones. And once I get my wall painted next week, I will see if they work on that wall or if i should put them elsewhere.

Which brings me to my next point...I am very proud of myself. I bought spackle today for the first time by myself :] AND I spackled some of the holes in my wall. You can barely tell :] How exciting. After payday next week, I will go buy the darker green paint and hopefully get the wall behind my entertainment center painted. Yipee. Finally!! A room to call my own.

My step mom mostly decorated by rooms before because when we moved in with her, the house was hers. But this house is half my dads, and I he really doesn't care what I do in it. He said no funky colors. And I didn't.

That's all for now. Work tomorrow morning at 6:30. OH! And p.s. - stay tuned for Friday :] Morgan, Brittani and I are going to the botanical garden in D.C. Pictures gallore :]

Do-It-Yourself

So I started this project with Brandee on Friday: making picture boards. And she pretty much got me hooked. We went and got the supplies and thank goodness Brandee helped me pick paper. I was looking at grandma wallpaper. YUCK!

Pictures will be posted later once they are on my wall. Another thing to add to Justin's hunny-do list. Suprisingly, for a women I think I do a pretty dern good job of hanging things on my wall. I might take the long way to get them there, but I get them up and they are even straight.

This week starts phase 1 of my room transformation. The few hours I have between work and school will be entire dedicated to spackling. I have a few holes in the wall where I thought it was cool to hang things by thumb tacks. So I will start spackling the wall behind my entertainment center and sanding it down. Next week, probably Wednesday, Thursday or Friday evening I will paint the wall a dark green. The other walls probably wont be painted for a while. I will have to spend more time on them since they have doors and windows to go around. Picture will be posted later :] I will do a before, an after, and everything in between. I feel sneaky doing it behind my dad's back, but it's my room. He'll get over it. My grandmother is all on board for my project so she must not think its too tacky :]

Okay well off to get ready to have brunch with Justin. If he ever gets out of bed :] He likes to really sleep in on these cool fall mornings. Chao!

Peace & Love

Ready for a Change

So I think I am finally ready to do my room. After looking at Brandee's pictures of the baby's room, I might have enough courage now to paint my own room. And then when I think about it...I'm not ready. Then again I wasn't ready to paint my trim either. I might just paint the one wall a darker green for now. And I might tackle my other walls on a snowy day. So much spackeling is involved. I thought it was "stylish" to pin things up with thumb tacks. Yeah...no...don't do that. And that blue stuff teachers use...don't put that on your walls either. It leaves oil stains. Once I clean out my room, half of my stuff will go to my grandmothers for storage. If your reading this Gran...clean out my cubby hole in the garage and my closets at the house :] HeHe. We think it's funny...Pop...not so much. I take up space in his workshop :] Good thing I'm cute.

I also thought about getting a new bed frame. A wooden one. Justin thinks it would make my room look smaller. I like them though. But my dad doesn't see a need. He told me even if my frame breaks, my bed will be held up by all the junk I have stored underneath. He's probably right. I think I have school stuff from the 9th grade living under there. I started a list about the things that will stay in my room and what will go:

To stay:
* Dresser
* Bed
* Book shelf
* Entertainment center
* Desk
* Wicker cube
* Baskets
* Photos and frames

To go in storage:
* My bears
* Various boxes
* A bunch of binders and folders.
* Corkboard
* Dry erase board
* Picture board

I'm always looking for new ways to brighten my room and decorate it. If you have any, let me know :]

I have to get ready! It's Wednesday...so you know what that means....GHOST HUNTERS :] and DESTINATION TRUTH!! yay!!

peave & love.
